Once the generator is ordered, the installation can be scheduled usually within 3 weeks. Once the Generator is in place further installation of Gas piping, Propane Gas installation and Inspections may require up to 2 more weeks before generator startup.

Both Generac and Kohler provide a standard warranty, and both often engage in extended warranty promotions of 5, 7, or 10 years. Your Salesperson will provide information on the current warranty that applies to the generator that you have selected. Most warranties will provide full coverage during the warranty period, except for the Battery and Annual Maintenance.

Maintenance is the key. Once operational, the customer should contract for one of our maintenance plans. If the generator is properly cared for it can last a long time. Riley Electrical has several generators near 20 years of age the are maintained and still performing.

Both Generac and Kohler have remote monitoring available. In each case, the customer will go to their app store on their smart phone and select the app from either the Kohler or Generac generator. Once the generator has become operational, the salesperson or installing Technician will assist the customer with app setup and communication with the generator. Many handy functions are included such as alarms, Utility Power Loss, Exercising and more. For Riley Electrical customer, Monitoring on our office computers and alerts to our cell phone is offered for a small annual fee.

Both Kohler and Generac Generators operate automatically. When Utility power is lost the generator will start and the Transfer Switch will transfer power to the generator . Within 30 seconds your generator will be powering your home or business whether you are there or not. The generator will exercise itself once a week for either 10 or 20 minutes, again whether you are there or not.

Riley Electrical has installed generators in several condominium/ community complexes in CT and Western MA. In all cases the H.O.A must grant approval for installation of a generator and the location. We work closely with the homeowner providing Property sketch showing location of Generator, Generator Specs, Insurance Certificate and License and whatever might be needed to gain approval.
